Wedding stationery has an important role to play. From invitations, to place cards, it’s something which is often dotted throughout your wedding day and sometimes it doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
Stationery is something you can have a lot of fun exploring and get personal with. Not only does it provide your guests with helpful information about the day, but you can drop clues about what fun lies ahead, drop a few teasers, and make an incredible first impression.
What stationery do you need for your wedding?
-
Invitations
Who doesn’t get excited when a wedding invite arrives! Invitations set the scene and build anticipation. If you’ve planning a full DIY wedding, why not start by making your own invites for that ultimate personal touch. You can use templates and add embellishments, or you could make the whole thing from scratch.
Alternatively, there are plenty of websites that offer a host of stunning designs, which you’re able to personalise yourself. Vistaprint and Etsy are just a couple of the options available to you.
Furthermore, instead of opting for generic companies to get your invites done, you could look into more personalized or indie brands. By doing a little bit of research online, you could find stores similar to Loom Wedding, that could help you make unique ‘Save the Date‘ cards.
-
Thank You Notes
Don’t forget to say thank you! After the wedding, it can be easy to forget to post your thank you’s, but it’s the important final stage of your wedding planning process. These are a lovely way to show your appreciation to all your loved ones and those who have supported you along the way. A heartfelt thank you note will be treasured and appreciated, no matter what shape or form it takes.
You could use photo postcards, for example. Use your favourite photograph (perhaps clicked by an Essex Wedding Photographer or somebody similar) from the wedding as the front of a postcard for that personal touch. Not only will your message of thanks be valued, but the photo will be a wonderful memory of the day.
-
Custom Place Setting
The seating plan can be tricky but important part of your wedding day, but what use is a seating plan, if no one knows where to sit! Use place settings to clearly show guests where they need to be for the wedding breakfast. This element of your wedding stationary can be simple or intricate. Tuck names into napkins for a cute, yet sophisticated finish. Or create traditional name places with card.
-
Order of service
This doesn’t just have to be a list of timings of the day. You can be really imaginative about it. For example, you could create a timeline showing how you met, or add activities for kids (and adults) to complete through the day. This could be crosswords, puzzles, photo challenges.
There are many ways to ‘go green’ with stationery if you’re worried about the impact it has. Check for recycled paper, or re-use materials from magazines and charity shops to create name places. You could even go digital! Whatever you do, don’t forget to keep copies to help you document your day for years to come!
Stationery adds personality and styles to many different parts of your wedding day. Whatever your vision for the big day, stationery can be a big part of this, and it’s important to think about how it fits into your theme. Get creative, try putting your own twist on things. It can be a hugely enjoyable aspect of wedding planning.
